Betty Fay Potter, loving mother and wife, age 55 of Meridian, Oklahoma died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in her home from natural causes.

She leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Kelly Potter; daughters Misty Allen and Jennifer Collier; grandsons Riley Wynn and Jagger Collier; a soon to be granddaughter; twin brother Bobby Vassey; Father-in-law Frank Potter; numerous nephews, nieces, friends, extended family; and her devoted dog Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her father “Al” Vassey; mother Martha Vassey; grandmother June Owensby; sisters Sue Spencer and Cathy Baldwin; and beloved nephew Paul Holden.

Born in Asheville, North Carolina, on April 11, 1963. She was never alone from day one. She had to learn to share space with her twin brother Bobby. As if to protect him, she would only sleep while having her arm around him. Little did she know that this would be her life calling. She worked for many years and in several areas of the medical field providing care for and touching the lives of all she came in contact with. Her caring, loving, and thoughtfulness allowed her to help others in their time of need. She was always ready to give you a hug or a shoulder to cry on, anytime you needed it, day or night. She was the first to say thank you, always had a smile on her face, and saw the good in everything and everyone. She loved whole-heartedly.

During her free time she enjoyed gardening and being near, or in, the water. She worked to make the world a more beautiful place and knew how to appreciate the little things in life. Her favorite flower was a tulip, and she filled her surroundings with them whenever possible. Pioneer Lake was the place you could find her every chance she got. She found peace by the water.

She will be missed by all who knew her because “To Know Her Was to Love Her.”

Graveside Service will be Monday September 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Evansville Cemetery, Guthrie/Meridian, Oklahoma.

Brother Don Brewer will be officiating.
