Betty Ann Boling

Betty Ann Boling

1940-2021

Betty Ann Boling, nee Miller, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Mercy Hospital as her husband held her hand. Betty was born on March 10, 1940 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Herbert and Evelyn Miller. She had an older brother, Bill, and a younger brother, Ronald. She grew up around Edmond and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1957. Betty completed training from the Central State Beauty College. She married Melvin Boling on April 19, 1963. Betty and Melvin eventually built their home north of Edmond down the street from her parents. In 1972, they began raising their only child, Melva Ann Boling. She devoted all of her time and energy to raising their daughter and taking care of their home. Betty had many activities that she loved and was never happy if she had to be still. She loved gardening and canning the vegetables from her or her daughter’s garden. She was an avid bowler for most of her life. She sewed numerous, beautiful quilts over the years that are cherished. Once Melvin started raising Angus cattle, Betty joined him in creating B & M Angus. Many of the later years of her life were dedicated to the Angus business. The activity that she seemed to love the most was taking care of her husband and her daughter, and they are grateful for all the love she gave them. She loved to cook for her family and friends even though she never seemed to think her food was as good as everyone else did.

Betty was preceded in death by her oldest brother Billy Gene Miller and his wife Jane and their children Shara and Sharon; her younger brother Ronald Miller, her parents Herb and Evelyn Miller. She is survived by Melvin Boling, her husband of nearly 58 years and her daughter Melva Boling. She had many loving, amazing nieces and nephews who supported her and her family in her final days.

Betty’s services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK at 2 pm on Friday. Viewing for the public will be Thursday from 3 pm to 8 pm.
