Bohnert_BetteBette Bohnert, 76, long time resident of Edmond, passed away Monday, July 7th. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald; two daughters, Brenda Simpson of Edmond, OK and Cindy Johnson of Seminole, OK; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was born in Halls, TN, raised in southeastern Missouri until she moved to Anthony, KS in 1954. She graduated from Anthony High School in May of 1956 and married Donald in June of the same year. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1969 where she became involved with the Oklahoma City bowling community as a youth instructor/director and the Oklahoma City Women’s Bowling Association and Oklahoma State Bowling Association both as a member and officer. After moving to Edmond in 1977, she began working at Boulevard Bowl as youth director and adult league coordinator until she retired in 2001.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Bohnert, in 2002.

Services will be held on Friday, July 11th, at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK with viewing on Thursday, July 10th Noon to 8PM.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or American Diabetes Association.

    Bette was a sweet lady enjoyed knowing her, my prayers are with family.

  2. Cindy, It truly saddened my heart to her the passing of your mom,I have many memories her bear hugs and times when she twisted my ear to keep me in line but she always gave me a kiss on my cheek, sending prayers from myself and family.
