Bertha “Beth” Armstrong
February 15, 1942 – November 4, 2021
Bertha “Beth” Young, 79, of Yukon, OK passed away peacefully the morning of November 4, 2021.
Beth was born February 15, 1942, to Ted and Ella Weathers in Edmond, OK. She graduated from Edmond High school in 1960.
She shares two handsome sons with former husband, Rodman A. Haddock, and a beautiful daughter with former husband Robert L. Armstrong.
She was employed at First National Bank of Edmond for 8 years but retired from Citizens Bank of Edmond after 26 years. She retired as the Assistant Vice President of consumer Loan Lending.
After enjoying some retirement, she was approached to be initiated into The Benevolent + Protective Elks. She served the lodge in every governing position and was installed Exalted Ruler in 2004. She loved her time in the lodge immensely.
In 2002 she married Bill Young and spent the next many years traveling in their 5th wheel, fishing, camping, and watching OU football until his death in 2018. Beth also enjoyed crafting, gardening, playing slots, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending quality time with her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Young, parents Ted and Ella Weathers, sister Geri Garcia and son Kevin Haddock.
She leaves behind her son Rodman D. Haddock, daughter Shelly Armstrong, Sister Roberta Chapman and husband Jim, Sister Alice Wilson, and husband Bill, 6 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their children.
She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Public visitation will be held Sunday, November 7th, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK.
Services will be held Monday, November 8th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK. Interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK.
