Bernice Lucille Stump-Meek-Grigsby

Bernice Lucille Stump-Meek-Grigsby was born on September 17, 1925 and passed away on April 13, 2016. Lucy as she was called by family and friends grisby bernicewas preceded in death by three husbands who were devoted to her. Jim Stump, Billy Meek, and Bill Grigsby.

She is survived by her son Jim Stump and dear friend Marilyn Lamrouex, daughter Barbara and husband Elvin Bounds, six grandchildren, Pam Anderson, Mike Stump, Stacy Sandefur, Tracy Rudderow, Catherine Harvey and Robyn Stump. Six great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Lucy was the manager of the cosmetics department for John A. Brown and Dillard’s until her retirement. She was always dressed to the nines and could not go anywhere without her lipstick, which by the way is with her now.

In her later years she loved to do lunch with her sister Lee and friends Bodie, Linda, and Kevin. She went to lunch almost every week with her son Jim and friend Marilyn.

Her evenings were devoted to her beloved Thunder. She was thrilled when they won and not a lot of fun when they lost. She always thought the other team was mean to her guys. She also loved OU football and loved to go to the games. She didn’t know much about it but loved to cheer. She always said “poor little fellows” when they lost.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Rosehill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, OK.
