1988-2017
Benjamin Ryan Posey was born in Oklahoma City on November 17, 1988 to Bobby and Tammy Posey. Ben was a long-time resident of Edmond, Oklahoma attending Edmond North High School and graduating in 2008. He played several sports, including football, baseball, and wrestling. Ben had a special place in his heart for dogs, specifically the Staffordshire Bull Terrier breed. He worked several jobs and did very well at them. Ben owned his own landscaping business, Premier Landscaping in Edmond for several years. He also worked construction and at the FFA center in Oklahoma City, among other things.
The last two years he resided and worked in South Florida where he made several meaningful friendships. These friendships were built on honesty, trust, respect and sobriety.
Ben was a kind and happy soul and he had a big heart. Everyone was his friend and Ben never met a stranger. He would do anything for anyone and had an absolutely infectious smile. Ben was taken from us way too early and our grief is overwhelming, but he’s in a better place with no more pain or sorrow.
Ben was preceded in death by the following immediate family members, his sister, Jessica Rae Posey; grandparents, J.R. “Buster” and Betty Raye Brown; grandparents, William Carl and Wylma Jean Posey; aunt and uncle Karen and Dale Todd and his beloved pit bull, Isabella.
Ben is survived by his parents, Bobby Ray and Tammy Gayle Posey; brother Matthew Carl Posey and wife Briana Michelle and daughter Cadence Grace. His soul mate, Cassie Marie Griffin; nephew Daniel Miles Dolman; niece Lola Bell Dolman. Aunts and Uncles; Gary and Bobbie Brown, Dennis and DeAnn Brown, Karla and Larry Taylor, Rick and Denise Harrell, and a host of cousins and friends.
We Love You, Ben. You Will Be Greatly Missed.

Tammy, Bob and Family, My thoughts are with you more than ever. I am very sorry for your loss. – Mel Ables
I am so blessed to have been a part of Ben’s life, and his Celebration Of Life here today. Thank you, Bob & Tammy, Matt & Briana, for welcoming Cassie into your lives and caring for her the way Ben did, they were soul mates and I couldn’t have asked or prayed for a better person to love my daughter. Thank you!
Your Florida family (Cassie, Nanny, Ron, Lisa and I) are going to miss your infectious smile and laugh. All the furbabies too: Macey, Myah, Ernest, Elliott, Emile, Monkey and Dixie. Oh, and our Cottontop Tamaryn monkey, Isabella.
“I love you, Ben”! Please continue to keep watch over Cassie ensuring her safety and happiness just a you did here on earth.
Sincerely, Mom Griffin (Cheryl) XoXo
