Barbara Sipes was my “Other Mother” and I’m so very thankful for her love as I was growing up. Always caring, giving and kind. Her family meant everything to her. She was a wonderful example of a working mother and I am so grateful for having known her. My prayers are with the family.

What a blessing to have Barbara as my aunt. She was a good moral woman, mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, aunt… She will be greatly missed by many!

To Whom it May be of Interest: Letter and picture addressed to Ms Barbara Sipes:
This was found about a year ago at the Chester, Ct. Farmer’s Market. It was mailed from Hudson, NY in January , 2007. The opened letter contained a picture of a grave stone, and a note from Aunt Mary.

We tried to contact by mail Mrs. Sipes, a Mr. Erik Sipes and other sources including Meriden City Clerk to return the letter, but to no avail.

Through our computer search we found this obituary.

If a family member would like us to forward the note and picture please send your address to this e-mail:

      Dear Matilda Dumbrill,

I was a neighbor and good friend of Barbara Sipes. Her daughter is Cecelia (Sipes) Smith who now lives in Guthrie, OK. but I don’t have her phone or mailing address.

I do have an email address so I forwarded the letter from the funeral home concerning your request and I’m sure she will be contacting you.

      Thank you for your concern.
      Jean Smith
