Barbara Elaine Goodnight-July 16, 1942 to April 7, 2013-was the daughter of Paul and Flora Weiss of Edmond. She had one sister, Arwanna Jean Shotts. She was reared in the Church of Christ at Edmond, Oklahoma where she found her husband of almost 50 years, Ronny Goodnight. There were two children to this union, David Paul Goodnight of South Bend, Indiana and Kimberly Dawn Northcott of Edmond, OK. Barbara attended Edmond Public schools and gradated with honors. She then attended Central State College-now The University of Oklahoma. She graduated again with honors and received her BSE in Education. Barbara was first and foremost the greatest Christian wife anyone could ever have and an incredible mother. She was a school teacher, a preacher’s wife, and a salesman’s wife. In addition to that, Barbara was a fine Elder’s wife of 17 years and taught the Toddler II class at Sonshine School with her mother (Flora) and sister (Arwanna) for 32 wonderful years. She has many wonderful Christian friends and family members that surround her today, but her kind and sweet spirit is safe in the arms of Jesus. Barbara is survived by her husband Ron of 49 years, son David Goodnight and his wife Maralee Goodnight of South Bend, Indiana, daughter Kim Northcott and husband Randy of Edmond, OK; sister Arwanna Shotts and husband Lendon; grandchildren: Alex Northcott, Kenzie Northcott, Hailey Northcott, Jacqueline Ashley Goodnight, Alexandra Taylor Goodnight, Lyndsi Faye Stratton, and Kayli Rebecca Stratton and great grandson, Bryant Davieon Miller, and many nieces and nephews. Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 10, 2013 at Edmond Church of Christ with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.
