Armando Carro Sr.
1934-2015
Armando Carro Sr., 80 passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in OKC, OK. He was born July 19, 1934 to Manuel and Aurora (Garcia) Carro in Camaguey, Cuba. On December 9, 1958 he married Hady Regueiro Carbonell.
Armando enjoyed hunting, fishing and “fixing” things. If ever by his side, you would know that fixing things in quotation meant that directions were never read and extra items were always left over. Yet, it was fixed! He dedicated his life to his family and to his adopted country where he found the freedom that he sought for them and future generations.
During his life in Oklahoma, he worked for Braums’s as a comptroller accountant at the headquarters in OKC. There, he made lasting friendships that have been a blessing to our family.
He is survived by his wife Hady; his 2 children, Armando Jr., and spouse Tawnya (Carte), and Adys and spouse Marc Alstatt; 4 grandchildren Cristina and spouse Eric Dotson, Emily, Grant, and Jeffrey; and 1 great-grandchild, Tristan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his 14 siblings.
A time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 2:30 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A great gentle family man. I known this family for a long time and consider them part of my family.
A great loss to all of us.

My business relationship and friendship with Armando Carro began in 1976; when we and our family’s had just moved to Oklahoma City. Armando was a great family man, business man and my most memorable friend. Armando knew, firsthand, about the value and cost of freedom. He loved this country just as he did his beloved Cuba. I wish everyone could have known this great patriot as I did. God Bless you, Mr. Carro and God Bless your family
