Amalia Vasquez passed away on Thursday, September the 7th of 2017 at the age of 91. Amalia was born in Cd. Victoria Tamaulipas, Mexico on July 10, 1926 to Mariana Zapata and Lorenzo Vasquez. She was the widow of Marcos Torres. Amalia was a beautiful, loving, generous, strong lady. She loved old songs of old Mexico, especially Los Panchos songs. She made sure that Cuco, a mentally challenged man that walked by her house always got a taco. As a matter of fact, no one left her house hungry. She made a meal out of everything. Amalia was a hard-working mother doing anything in her power to help her husband provide for their 8 children. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her 8 children- Linda, Victor Manuel, Fidela, Andres Eduardo, German, Hilda, Juana Julia and Cirenio. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. She is also survived by 3 sisters- Elena, Martina and Ma. De Jesus.
Amalia was so loving, young children from the barrio adopted her as a mom. Everywhere she went she was called beautiful lady or sweet lady. Amalia was greatly loved by many.
