Brinkoetter, AlanAlan “Dean” Brinkoetter passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Dean was born on August 20, 1953 to Lawrence M. and Vera Faye (Bell) Brinkoetter in Oklahoma City. Dean was diagnosed with early onset dementia at age 57 but continued to be a strong, independent worker until his retirement. Dean was a loving husband to Janna (Plumlee) Brinkoetter and their amazing two children, Kent and Kelli Brinkoetter and granddaughter Kenlee.

Dean graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1972 and attended Foster Estes Vo-Tech. Dean worked at Governair Corporation (Nortek) for 43 years, retiring in December 2016. He was a teacher, trainer, faithful employee and friend to many co-workers over the years. Dean got his HVAC license at Metro Tech. Dean was a baptized member of Southern Hills Christian Church since 1975. He served as a Deacon and youth leader. He was active in Kum Join Us Sunday School Class. He was active in Bible Study Fellowship for 12 years.

Dean coached baseball for Kent, soccer for Kent and Kelli and served as assistant Boy Scout Leader helping Kent earn his Eagle. Dean’s greatest joys were his faith, family and friends. He loved spending summer vacations in Colorado and using his Scouting experience to cook over an open fire. He had breakfast on Saturday mornings at Around the Corner with David, Nick and Tom. Dean was a great man who could do anything with his hands. Dean is survived by his wife Janna of 43 years, daughter Kelli and granddaughter Kenlee; by his father in law, Bob Plumlee, sisters in law Mary Margaret (Robert) Thacker, Carrie (Wes) Hamilton, Christy (Brian) Foster and Carmen Brinkoetter and brother in law Robert (Kim) Plumlee, and by 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mom, Dad, Sister, Vicki Sue, son Kent in 1995, mother in law Mary Plumlee, niece, Marissa Plumlee and his brother Martin Dale Brinkoetter.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Southern Hills Christian Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A formal visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14th from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home.
