Amy passed away on December 22, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Amy was born July 5,1926 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to John C. and Mamie (Glover) Terry.

She married Jack Vandale on January 22, 1946, in Long Beach, California. They were married 35 years. They lived in Hobart, Oklahoma for 22 years. He preceded her in death in 1981. She later married Dillard Cheek in 1996, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She was a homemaker for many years and a saleswoman for JC Penney. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. She lived at North Ridge Retirement Center for the last 18 years before moving to Edmond to live with her niece. She loved her family and people.

Amy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Vandale of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: two grandsons, Kyle Vandale and Jim Nash: two grand-daughters, Sara and Emily Higginbotham: two great-grandsons, Mason Nash and Brandy Nash: special friends, Bobby Ferguson, Lori and Lyn Vogler, Angela Acevedo, Ann Medina, Gena Harris, and Cathy Davis: and numerous nephews and nieces. Amy is preceded in death by her parents: husbands: son, Terry Vandale: daughter. Mary Beth Higginbotham and son-in-law, Kent Higginbotham: twin sister, Jeroldine Williams: brothers, John Jr. Terry, Willie Terry, Charlie Terry, Estes Terry: Emma Dobbs, Lovie Harris and Dovie Clinton.

In lieu of flowers he family suggests memorials be sent to Second Baptist Church, 1705 N. Bryan., Lamesa, Texas 79331 or Dawson County Senior Citizens Center, 609 N. Austin Ave., Lamesa, Texas 79331.

Memorial services will be held on January 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 1705 N Bryan Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331 with Pastor Curtis Lloyd officiating.

A celebration of life will be held in Edmond, Oklahoma at a later date in February.
