Lindbergh “Lindy” John Rahhal was born September 5, 1928 in Bennington, OK. His parents were John and Woodad Rahhal. He moved with lindy john rahhalhis parents to Weleetka, OK at the age of 5. He attended Weleetka Public Schools and Graduated in 1948. He was graduating class Valedictorian and Senior Class President. During high school, he played varsity football and was a two year letterman. He attended the University of Oklahoma and received a degree in Zoology. He then attended the University of Oklahoma Medical School and received his M.D. in 1953.

After one year of internship at the Kansas City General Hospital, he served in the US Air Force for 3 years as a Flight Surgeon and Air Base Hospital Commander. He attained Permanent Rank of Captain and Reserve Rank of Major. Upon completion of his Residency in Radiology from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, he entered private practice in Radiology in 1960 and co-founded Radiology Associates, Inc. At this time, he was a member of active staff of Baptist and Deaconess Hospitals as well as a consultant for other hospitals. He also served as a Volunteer Faculty member at the University of Oklahoma Medical School. Lindy was a member of many medical organizations including a Life member of the American Medical Association, the Oklahoma Medical Association, and the American College of Radiology. He received a 50-Year Commendation from the Governor of Oklahoma and the AMA.

In 1958, he met the love of his life, Pauline, and they married a year later and had 55 wonderful years together. Lindy and Pauline were big OU football fans and had season tickets for 50 years. They had four children: John Rahhal, M.D., Steve Rahhal, J.D., Scott Rahhal, M.D. and Tamara (Rahhal) Schulkind, Ph.D. The family were active members of the Disciples of Christ church and Lindy spent the last 24 years as a member of the First Christian Church of Edmond. After retirement, Lindy and Pauline moved to Oak Tree Golf and Country Club where they were charter members. One of Lindy’s proudest moments was his induction to Beta Theta Pi fraternity along with his three sons.

Lindy is survived by his sons, John Rahhal and his wife Sarah, of Edmond; Steve Rahhal of Dallas, Tx, Scott Rahhal and his wife Pam of Tulsa; and Tamara Rahhal Schulkind and her husband Matt of Amherst MA. Pops was loved by his grandchildren, Megan, Madison, Matthew, Jake and Abby. He also leaves behind one sister, Mary Massad and her husband Tony Massad as well as many relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 18, 2016 at the First Christian Church of Edmond with a lunch to follow at the church.
