Jordan Elizabeth DeShazer

Jordan Elizabeth DeShazerDeShazer, Jordan Color

1997-2016

No words can describe the loss we all shared when Jordan was taken from us on August 13th. She was greeted into Heaven by her grandfather and Hammer, her pet cat. Our beautiful baby girl and cherished friend to so many will be missed so, so much. Those who knew Jordan would describe her as a compassionate, talented, very intelligent, spirited athlete who lived life to the fullest and had a work ethic way beyond her very short 19 years of life on this earth. Jordan was born January 14, 1997. She had the dream of one day becoming a neurologist and working with children. Everyone who knew Jordan feels she would have changed the world.

Jordan is survived by her mother, father, two sisters, two nieces, two grandmothers and one grandfather, as well as numerous relatives, mentors, friends and a soulmate.

Jordan’s body will be laid to rest Saturday, August 20th, at 11:00 am. The memorial service will be held at the New Covenant United Methodist Church of Edmond, 2700 South Blvd, under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give to a trust that has been set up in Jordan’s name. The trust will be used to create a scholarship foundation to assist medical students in their final years of education. Donations can be given at any Bank of Oklahoma, mention that the donation is for the Jordan DeShazer Memorial Fund.

Wayne, I am so sorry. I’d didn’t know Jordan but I know you and if her heart was half the size of yours it must be the size of Texas! I continue to pray for you and your family. Sometimes the tears just have to hit the floor.

  8. Jordan was my student her senior year and lots of fun in class. She was a hard worker who had a way of doing things her way and stood up for her ideas. She was lost to us too young. My regrets to your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Jordan’s death. As her preschool teacher at St Mary’s Espisopal School I remember Jordan as a happy delightful little girl. She was smart, fun, and a delight in class. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family.

Wayne and Margaret, we are so deeply saddened by Jordan’s, way too early, departure from this earth. In her time here she obviously made great impressions on those around her, with her brilliant mind, sweet soul and drive. We love you, grieve with you and are wrapping you in love during this time. We pray that God holds you close and comforts you.
