Ellen went to live with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 2nd 2016; after losing her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the oldest of five children and was born in Turlock, Ca. Ellen graduated from Midwest City High School class of 1980. After traveling to Europe and living in Germany for a few years, Ellen met her future husband David Corfee. The married and lived in Edmond, Ok. Ellen loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Her greatest pleasure was taking care of the people she loved. Ellen worked at the Nova center for several years and loved the residents. She attended UCO where she started pursuing her nursing degree. Later Ellen became a licensed insurance producer for Farmers Insurance.

Ellen is survived by her husband, David Corfee of the home, daughters, Brandi Jackson and husband Michael Jackson of Edmond, Shelbi and Kasei Corfee of the home, parents William (Bill) and Carol Spaulding, Edmond, Ok., Sisters Connie Calaway and husband Ed (Tiger) Calaway, Edmond, Selma Spaulding, Edmond, Jeannie Wimberley, Edmond, brothers, Scott Spaulding and wife Valerie Spaulding, Edmond and Mark Spaulding, Edmond. Grandchildren, Jordan McNeil, Dylan Jackson, Christian Jackson, Olivia Yeager, Morgan Yeager and Gage Jackson, all of Edmond. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Ellen was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Ellen West and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Rubye Spaulding.

Visitation for family will be at Matthews Funeral home on Thursday July 7th from 7p.m. untul 8:30 p.m. and public visitation will be Friday July 8th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday July 9th at 10:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home chapel with graveside services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery immediately following.

  1. I wish I could be there for all of you. We have always been like family from day one and
    we will always be family . I’m so sorry for loss of a great woman mother. Daugher and sister to many. She is in heaven with no pain. I wish I could be there but I’m there in spirit. I love all of you.
